This class provides an environment for alumni of both the Intro and Advanced courses to continue their practice of the technique on a weekly basis, engaging with a single playtext over the course of ten weeks. This course operates in much the same as a rehearsal room, with a view to allowing participants to discover how they can continue to apply the tools of the Meisner work in the face of all that the process of rehearsing and performing a play inevitably brings up.

  • "Easily one of the best short courses in acting I've done. Wherever you are in your career; whether you're looking to get into acting, auditioning for drama school, a recent acting grad looking to touch up your practice, or an experienced actor looking to bring an extra layer to your performance, you'll get something from this course. Leonard is a dedicated, encouraging and thoughtful teacher, and there isn't anyone I wouldn't be happy to recommend this course to."

David Rawle, Actor (Small Town, Big Story; Blue Moon; Pixie)

  • "Changed my approach to acting and gave me confidence and a love for it again. It’s one of the strongest techniques I’ve ever come across for getting into that bold limitless state. I’ll definitely be back."

Kwaku Fortune (The Dry, TWIG, Line of Duty, Normal People, Animals)

  • "The Introduction to Meisner course was a brilliant experience that I can’t recommend enough to anybody interested in acting. It didn’t matter if you had years of experience or none, the classes were a non-judgemental space where everybody was encouraged to start from scratch. The open, fun atmosphere made it so easy to get out of my own head and feel really present within the work. I still return to the tools I took away from the classes all the time, it totally changed my approach to both performing and consuming film/ TV/ theatre for the better!"

Emily Healy (Say Nothing, Bad Sisters)

  • "A game-changer for me as a director. I found it collaborative and genuinely fun in a space that felt safe to take risks and push myself. The structure of the classes slowly builds confidence over the course, and the weekly exercises helped me properly understand Meisner from the ground up. It’s made me rethink how I work with actors - how to bring them into the script and create the right emotional space for real, free performances without over-directing. The work I did in the class directly informed the way I shaped my most recent short film, which has since gone on to have a successful festival run. I’d highly recommend the class to any director wanting to reframe how they collaborate with actors and create work that feels alive."

    Olivia McLaughlin, Director

  • "I got so much out of it. It made me less self-conscious and more present to my scene partner. I signed up for the advanced course and the first availabile opportunity"

Tony Doyle (Hidden Assets, Kin, Dublin Oldschool)

  • "It was exactly what I had been looking for. The classes are very practical, and even when I wasn't up doing an exercise myself, I learned so much from sitting back and watching others explore what was possible from a performance when you are connected to yourself, your scene partner, and the space around you. I would highly recommend working with Leonard if this is the kind of in-depth work you are a looking for."

    —Sarah Griffin, Actor & Director

  • "The Meisner courses made a huge difference in how I approach acting and any of the auditions and self-tapes I’ve done since then. It was a really supportive and constructive learning environment where we had the freedom to explore what worked for us and what didn’t, and also a great way to meet another lovely actors and make friends! I really can’t express enough how much it’s changed how I view performance, and I’ve seen a marked difference in the work I’ve done since. If you do any acting course, do this one!"

    Niamh O’Farrell-Tyler, Actor

  • "I wish I could say I was being hyperbolic, but it has completely changed the way I watch films, television series, and plays. Leonard's style of teaching has taught me so much about how to communicate with an actor, how to analyse and interrogate text, and how to get the most from whatever scene is in front of you. I feel incredibly lucky to be able to continue with my career having learned these skills, and I cannot recommend the course enough - to actors, directors, and writers alike."

    Hiram Harrington, Writer & Director

  • ‘’The Meisner Institute Ireland classes were instrumental in developing my practice as an actor. The skills that I learned during this course have become an essential part of my process. Leonard is an amazing practitioner who shares his knowledge and experience in a constructive, fun and explorative manner. I have since moved away to study a Masters in Acting and I truly believe that the work I did through the Meisner Institute Ireland, and the support that Leonard offered, assisted me in achieving this. It is a lovely working environment and a chance to meet a group of like-minded people who are all eager to learn. I was always excited to see what each week would bring!’’

    Amy Scollard, Actor
